Chinese Banquet!
Wow, the co-workers that I go to dinner with to celebrate every "season" never cease to amaze me with their dining choices. For the "season" of Fall, one of the girls suggested a Chinese Banquet Style dinner just like those you get to experience at a Chinese Wedding and sometimes Vietnamese Wedding. I was so excited when I heard of the cuisine of choice because Chinese Banquet is one of my faaavorite things to do! There are just not enough people getting married these days with these kinds of reception banquets to quench my palate! Forgive me, but I think I need a new camera because these pictures do NOT do the dinner justice. It was a great time - especially when they serve you everything! I didn't have to really lift any spoons except my own. LOVED THAT!
Pan Fried Scallops
My neighbor's prettier scallops with pink hydrangea flower accent
Deep Fried Stuffed Crab Claw
(Yummy!) Braised Shark's Fin Soup With Crab Meat
(One of my favorites!)Braised Abalone & Giant MushroomWith Vegetable
House Special Lobster (Mmmm, finger lickin good! but you gotta be willing to get a little messy.)
(My ABSOLUTE favorite!) Prince Seafood Peking Duck (yummy bun!)
Steamed Live Whole Fish
Braised Noodle With Abalone Sauce (Abalone sauce? No wonder this was so good!)
Birthday Mango Pudding!
And last but not least, a surprise! A very special lucky pastry! My girlfriend said that eating it would bring long life and prosperity. Well, you can imagine how fast I grabbed me one of these. I've never eaten this pastry before, it almost looks too pretty to eat! (this was not included in the menu - she must have ordered this special for us)
...though, a few of us had a laugh because it looked oddly like a cute little bum! :) I hope I didn't just comment my long life and prosperity away with that little statement...

A side note: We were seated in a separate room just off the main dining room and like I mentioned before - we were SERVED. Most of my pictures were of just my plate because they would take the main plate off to the side (after first introducing the dish) to serve it up individually to each of us. Wow - it felt like royalty I tell ya. :) It was a great experience.
