What's your Halloween Candy Personality?

A poll fit for Halloween! What is your Halloween Candy Personality? According to the Washington Post I'm "Purely deluded people. They don't get that candy shouldn't attempt to imitate other food groups, particularly corn."

Some of the other candies are hilarious! What personality are you???? Post here!

Something great's coming to Hawaii...

Directly from the horse's mouth...Morimoto will be opening up a new restaurant on the island of Oahu Hawaii in May 2008! It's "unofficial" ofcourse - but when the chef himself tells you this (& his publicist?) it's pretty official to me. :)

Chinese Banquet!

Wow, the co-workers that I go to dinner with to celebrate every "season" never cease to amaze me with their dining choices. For the "season" of Fall, one of the girls suggested a Chinese Banquet Style dinner just like those you get to experience at a Chinese Wedding and sometimes Vietnamese Wedding. I was so excited when I heard of the cuisine of choice because Chinese Banquet is one of my faaavorite things to do! There are just not enough people getting married these days with these kinds of reception banquets to quench my palate! Forgive me, but I think I need a new camera because these pictures do NOT do the dinner justice. It was a great time - especially when they serve you everything! I didn't have to really lift any spoons except my own. LOVED THAT!

And last but not least, a surprise! A very special lucky pastry! My girlfriend said that eating it would bring long life and prosperity. Well, you can imagine how fast I grabbed me one of these. I've never eaten this pastry before, it almost looks too pretty to eat! (this was not included in the menu - she must have ordered this special for us)

...though, a few of us had a laugh because it looked oddly like a cute little bum! :) I hope I didn't just comment my long life and prosperity away with that little statement...

A side note: We were seated in a separate room just off the main dining room and like I mentioned before - we were SERVED. Most of my pictures were of just my plate because they would take the main plate off to the side (after first introducing the dish) to serve it up individually to each of us. Wow - it felt like royalty I tell ya. :) It was a great experience.

Mmm, year old cake...

There's nothing like looking foward to a year old cake to help you look forward to your next year of marriage. hahaha - sounds so solemn doesn't it?! But on the contrary - the anticipation of eating that thing somehow makes celebrating 1 year of marriage fun and even DARING! I actually think that husbands look forward to this one part of the celebration as if they were participating in some Fear Factor episode or something of that sort. Either way - we did the said tradition and though the photos aren't as interesting really, I just had to share this experience; especially for those married folk who can sympathize with our tastebuds in having done this tradtition before.

The Cake Box from the hotel - never saw it until today since my mom had wrapped the box up in brown packing paper...looks nice! Maybe this won't be so bad?

Surprise! What? What is that brown stuff?

It's the flowers! They're still on the cake? They actually don't look so bad structurally after being frozen for so long. But ew - better pluck them out.

Ready to Cut! Slicing off any part of the cake that touched the flowers, just to be safe. :)

Someone told me that a survey taken of people eating their wedding cake showed that those who drank some kind of alcohol with their meal or while they were eating their cake tended to NOT get sick...so Port it is!

All in all, it wasn't half bad. My husband said the cake was a little dry and the filling a little mushy but not as bad as we had thought. It was actualy, *gasp!*, edible. :) We actually both ate our pieces of cake, however, in true traditional fashion, we wisely threw the rest out. :P
