@Lime Truck, we ate Crab, Lobster & Scallop Ceviche & Foie Gras Mousse! (Foie at the food trucks? what?! awesome!)
@Fishlips Sushi, we ate the Temari sampler. Very pretty! Kyoto Style sushi, our first!
@Maui Wowie, ordered a smoothie
@CoolHaus, we had chocolate chip cookie with Brown Butter & Candied Bacon Ice cream and chocolate chip cookie with Balsamic Fig & Mascarpone ice cream
@Flying Pig, we wanted to order the Pork Belly Bun (sold out) then we ordered the Duck Taco, but then asked for our money back when it took too much time to get our food. People were watching the food coming out. It came out 1 taco at a time, sometimes several minutes between tacos. :( With about 30 people in front of us, we couldn't wait another hour after ordering. :( too bad.

All in all, it was for charity. Enjoy the pics!

In honor of Bocuse d'Or

See Seasonal Notes at the French Laundry
Man, if I was made of money...ask me where I'd be September 3-5 and I'd say, "I'll be hanging out with Chef Thomas Keller at the French Laundry." We'd all be dining in the gardens, having dinner at FL and checking out the latest of Chef Keller's creations Ad Hoc; all in support of the Bocuse d'Or USA Foundation. Oh, and I'd also mention that I'd be attending a private cooking demonstration by Chef Thomas Keller at the famous Culinary Institute of America, Greystone Campus.

I wish, I wish, I wish...

Snack Buffet Pics

Finally uploaded the Snack Buffet pics from the baby shower I attended. Thanks to my girlfriend and her trusty cell phone camera, I was able to get some good pics of it. This picture should take you to the photo set. Colors for the party were blue, brown, yellow and green.

Love Amy Atlas

Just finished my first attempt at a snack/candy buffet for a baby shower. I tried to follow Amy Atlas's examples (portfolio) with much needed guidance (snack bar how-to) from my very talented party designer consultant justjenn. I don't have pictures yet but will post them when I have the chance. I've always wanted to do one though and I'm very happy I got the chance to.

For now, I leave you with one of the Amy Atlas tables I was inspired by:

We revisited an old childhood memory that I thought was lost forever. An old fashioned themed ice cream parlour with some crazy antics. My fondest memory is of the hot fudge served in a little silver cup. Alas, the silver cup has been reduced to plastic but it still tastes very good. I wanted to order the Mauna Kea but got the Pig's Trough instead - wish we had more people so we could eat more ice cream!
